In this scene, the twin keepers of the gate guard the magical archway.  They're charged with the duty of selecting who may and who may not enter the realm that lies beyond the arch  ...or whatever.  You can make up your own story.  This Art Nouveau style arch was created in the darkroom.  I photographed Amanda in several different poses by this tree at Hayes Arboretum in Richmond, IN.  I then blended two of the images together in the darkroom. Most of the limbs have broken off of this tree since I took this photograph. (Click on the image above to view a close-up detail.)
