This image was inspired by "The Hobbit", one of my favorite books.  In this photograph a caped Gandalf-esque figure stands with staff in hand at the edge of the dark forest of Mirkwood. This is a multiple image photograph, although it would be difficult to tell even by close inspection.  In order to emphasize the darkness of the forest, I printed a negative of a dark clouded sky over the wooded area and dodged out the tunnel opening.  This helped to create the appearance of a dark forest for a more dramatic effect.
